Our ongoing service project, Tennis Soles for Others, continues to grow in momentum as we add new shoe bins and beneficiaries. These gently used shoes have given joy to others. This last quarter we delivered shoes to Amor ministries in Tijuana, Friendship Shelter in Laguna Beach, OC Rescue Mission and to Laguna Niguel Presbyterian who then delivers to Siempre Para Los Ninos. Thank you to volunteer, Shawn Morningstar, for delivering with Carol Walsh to the OC Rescue Mission. TSO needs help! We are looking for two members to help deliver shoes when the time arises. Two deliveries per year would help us out a lot. If you can help deliver, please email tennisservesothers@gmail.com. In June, we have a member traveling to Africa who will take children’s shoes to an orphanage. If you have younger children and can spare a few old shoes, please donate in one of our shoe bins located at: LNRC, RCI, Lifetime RSC, Nellie Gail, Mission Viejo, Tustin Hills,
Coto de Caza and Dana Hills Tennis Center.
We are all working toward our May 20th event to benefit Wings For Crossover. Above are photos provided by their school, the Crossover Academy. Don’t miss our General membership meeting on June 8th at 11:00 a.m. where we will be presenting Wings for Crossover the proceeds raised from our Wimbledon Grand Slam Tennis Charity event. Look for an Evite soon with all of the details
